The DIY Version!
Immortelle, On Guard, Aroma Touch, DigestZen, GX Cleanse
_______________________________________________________________
In my EO travels I've come across several good substitutes for a few popular blends. The "make your own" blends have saved me money and, saved the day more than a few times! I've shared some of them before but here's my favorite DIY blends all in one post.
DIY Immortelle
equal parts of Frankincense, Lavender and Cypress
Before the release of Immortelle, Dr. Hill recommended the above combination of EOs. I've used this combination in a variation of my Coconut Oil Cleanser and Coconut Oil Eye Makeup Remover. I like to keep this blend in a roller bottle for ease of use.
Did you know?
Long term use of DIY Immortelle around your eyes (not too close) can improve eyesight and soften fine lines if used regularly. Tough headache? Apply blend at base of neck, temples and forehead followed by Peppermint!
Anti-Aging Salve Blend! Next time you make a batch of CW All Purpose Healing Salve, switch up the EOs to create a rich anti-aging salve. This is one of my favorite body moisturizers after a shower or bath. Emollient lip balm too!
Thieves Oil, Shield or On Guard
Jill @ The Prairie Homestead made me a happy camper when she posted this recipe! I don't care what brand of EOs you prefer, this recipe should be in your EO Journal!
Make Your Own Thieve's Oil Blend
_____________________________________________
20 drops Clove
18 drops Lemon
10 drops Cinnamon Bark
8 drops Eucalyptus
5 drops Rosemary
Jill notes that she also adds 5 drops each of Melaleuca and Frankincense for extra strength protection but, this is optional.
Store blend in dark glass bottle, double or triple recipe if needed.
Warning - some EOs contained in this blend are considered HOT oils, dilute with fractionated coconut oil or almond with topical application.
DigestZen
{from Dr. Sue Lawton}
I wrote this blend down several months ago and liked it so well I started blending my own, refilling the DZ empty EO bottle more than a few times. Great for stomach upset, cramping, bloating, vomiting and all things digestive.
3 drops Basil
3 drops Clove
2 drops Thyme
2 drops Rosemary
2 drops Coriander
1 drop Ginger
1 drop Peppermint
Multiple the recipe for convenience. Apply topically, or take in a capsule internally as needed.
Aroma Touch, Pure Touch
equal parts Cypress, Lavender and Marjoram
This blend works as a "driver" when applying EOs to sore, strained muscles. An easy application for sore muscles, apply equal parts Lavender and Peppermint - follow with a layer of DIY Touch and feel relief! Good all by itself for tight neck and shoulders massage, lower back pain and a gentle massage for Neuropathy, always massaging in towards the heart.
DIY GX Assist
I found the DIY Candida Cleanse {HERE} several months ago. This is a protocol that Dr. Hill recommended before GX Assist was released in 2009. What I like about this? I always have Lemon, Melaleuca and Oregano in my Travel Kit enough to get the protocol started anyway. This is a great recipe to remember if you or someone you're with has a "flare-up" and you're away from home, don't leave home without it.
5 drops Lemon
5 drops Melaleuca
5 drops Oregano
Take in a capsule 2x daily for 10 to 14 days. Rest two weeks and repeat protocol.
