Every Fictional Book I Read Last Year...

...with a mini review, if I feel like it.

1 star = Don't bother.
2 stars = I didn't super dislike, but I didn't like.
3 stars = Fun book, but I probably wouldn't read it again.
4 stars = Good Book. You might enjoy it.
5 stars = THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER AND YOU MUST READ IT!!

 January

1. The Lightning Thief - Rick Riordan
 5 stars; re-read.
This was a re-read, but I still enjoyed it ever so much- same with the rest of the series.

2. The Sea of Monsters - Rick Riordan
 5 stars; re-read.

3. The Titan's Curse - Rick Riordan
 5 stars; re-read.
I reallyreallyreally hate it in books when the guy & girl get separated, and one of them spends the whole book looking for the other. However- this is Percy Jackson, so it's an excellent book anyways. :D

4. The Battle of the Labyrinth - Rick Riordan
 5 stars; re-read.

5. Third Girl - Agatha Christie
 5 stars.

February

6. Pilgrim Kate - Helen Fern Daringer
3 stars; re-read.

7. Enna Burning - Shannon Hale
 3 stars.

March

8. Forest Born - Shannon Hale
4 stars.

9. The Cater Street Hangman - Anne Perry
 1 star.
This book was a major disappointment to me. I saw a trailer for the movie, and ordered the book. Meh. Didn't like it.

10. The Watsons - Jane Austen and John Coates
 5 stars.
This was an excellent book -Jane Austen, so duh- I really enjoyed it. Why doesn't someone make this into a movie- instead of another version of Jane Eyre, or Wuthering Heights??

11. Jeeves in the Morning - P.G. Wodehouse
 5 stars.
What can I say? P.G. Wodehouse is awesome.

April

12. House of Many Ways - Diana Wynne Jones
4 stars.
While not as good -IMO- as the two books preceding this one- I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

13. Debbie of the Green Gate - Helen Fern Daringer
3 stars; re-read.

May

14. Westmark - Lloyd Alexander
 4 stars.
I had already read the last book in this series, so I knew how it ended, but it was nice to finally get some of the story that happened before.

15. The Last Olympian - Rick Riordan
 5 stars; re-read.
Such. A. Good. Book.

16. The Kestrel - Lloyd Alexander
3 stars.
Hm. I really don't like books where the characters get all depressed. If I remember correctly, this book was kinda like that.

June

17. The Throne of Fire - Rick Riordan
 5 stars.
Egyptian mythology in modern times- super fun and educational! ;)

18. The Beggar Queen - Lloyd Alexander
 3 stars; re-read.
I always hate it in books when characters that don't really need to die, die. Still a fun book, however.

19. The Trumpeter of Krakow - Eric P. Kelly
3 stars.

20. The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
 4 stars.
While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I only gave it four stars, because it was rather violent to be in the Young Adult section. (However, that didn't stop me from reading the rest of the series, and loving them...)

July

21. The Mating Season - P.G. Wodehouse
5 stars.
Yet another story where Bertie Wooster finds himself into a horrible jam, and his man Jeeves gets him out. Brilliant! :D

22. Emil and Piggy-Beast - Astrid Lindgren
3 stars.
This is a children's book- but rather fun.

23. Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins
 4 stars.
The second book in the Hunger Games series = Another page turner.

August

24. Mocking Jay -Suzanne Collins
3 stars.
This book was very disappointing to me. *spoiler alert* Katniss spent most of her time being depressed, or recovering from  her latest battle wounds, and Peeta- Ah, Peeta! *siiigh* And like I said- hate it when characters that didn't really need to die, die. Makes me mad. >:( *end spoiler alert*

September

25. Dealing With Dragons - Patricia C. Wrede
 5 stars.
Such a fun book/series. I love.

26. Poirot Investigates - Agatha Christie
 4 stars.
A collection of Poirot short stories- fun reading.

27. Searching For Dragons - Patricia C. Wrede
 5 stars.
So, the love interest is introduced in this book- Cimorene+Mendanbar forever!!  *squee* ;)

28. Calling on Dragons - Patricia C. Wrede
 5 stars.
LOVE this book- except for the end- fortunately, there's one more book that comes after it. :D

29. Entwined - Heather Dixon
 4 stars.
This was a re-telling of the 12 Dancing Princesses. I can't quite decide what I think of it- T'was a fun read- but a little bit strange...

October

30. Talking to Dragons - Patricia C. Wrede
 5 stars.
Ah, I love these books! 'Cept one of the major plot points in this book is one of the things that really annoys me when Something Like It Happens. But I can't tell you what it is- go read the book. :D

31. The Shield Ring - Rosemary Sutcliff
4 stars; re-read.

32. The Son of Neptune - Rick Riordan
 5 stars.
I love Greek/Roman mythology -even though I haven't studied it much- and this book series is so much fun! (And educational! I can remember lots more mythology characters/stories since I've read the Percy Jackson books.)

33. Mara; Daughter of the Nile - Eloise Jarvis Mcgraw
 5 stars; re-read.
I LOVE this book. If you haven't read it, you must. Right away. I insist. Even if you have read it, you should go re-read it. You know you want to. :)

34. The Seven Darlings - Gouverneur Morris
 5 stars; re-read.
This is a darling book. (Yes, lame pun...) But it is. Really.

35. Sorcery and Ceclia or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot - Patricia C. Wrede & Caroline Stevermer
3 stars.

 November

36. The Blue Castle - L.M. Montgormery
5 stars; re-read.
I love this book. IMO, it is one of L.M. Montgormery's very best books. It's super fun. ^_^

37. Foundlings - Matthew Christian Harding
1 star.
I didn't really care for the style of writing this book was written in, and none of the characters grabbed my interest. Thus, I didn't really enjoy it.

38. Image of Josephine - Booth Tarkington
3 stars.
This was a fun book, and while the ending was a happy one, I still wasn't entirely satisfied with it.

December

39. Crown Duel/Court Duel - Sherwood Smith
 4 stars; re-read
This is really fun book, but it's one of those weird ones that have magic, but it's not a really magic-y world, so then all the sudden there's a major plot point that involves magic, and you're like "Wow, that was sorta different/out-of-place-feeling."  Still a fun read though. :)

 40. Alex O'Donnell and the 40 Cyber Thieves - Regina Doman
 3 stars.

41. Black As Night - Regina Doman
3 stars.
This was a fun book- but it's the aggravating sort where the guy is searching for the girl, but keeps just missing finding her... >:(

42. Waking Rose - Regina Doman
 3 stars.
I really don't like depressing books, if you haven't figured that out yet. This one wasn't too bad, but it sorta bothers me when in sequels characters who were fine in the previous book suddenly have a huge emotional problem- and you know it's just because the author wanted to write another book 'cause the first book was popular. *spoiler* And one of the main characters is in a coma for a goodish bit of the book- which annoyed me. *end of spoiler* However, it's still a very fun book- I read it in one day.

43. The Midnight Dancers - Regina Doman
2 stars.
So, this book sort of bothered me... It's a re-telling of the 12 Dancing Princesses, which means that the girls are sneaking out at night to go dancing. Somehow, it just seemed worse than the usual fairy tale- maybe because it's set in modern times it makes them seem extra sneaky, I dunno.

The End.
