Winter's over, time to hit the ball park!
...hockey rink, tennis or volleyball court, beach, skate park...
This post is for all of you Mom's, Grandmas and Nannies cheering on the team and watching out for their best interest. Every kid needs a cheer leader (and a sports doc) on the sidelines!
I absolutely loved this time of my life! Shuttling kids to their games, standing on the sideline with the other parents talking shop and watching the little terrors tear it up on the field. Thankfully, we had very few "serious" accidents on the ball field and hockey rink, we did amazingly well for raising 5 kids. But I would have LOVED to have had essential oils through all of that, believe me.
By the way, standing on the sideline is a great time to share and talk about essential oils! Tip! Keep an Altoid tin filled with various samples and a few business cards if you have them...people get VERY excited about these little bottles and an actual chance to smell them and use them is key to sharing.
Good EO samples: Lavender, On Guard, Lemon, Peppermint, Wild Orange
30 drops Peppermint
30 drops Lavender
20 drops fractionated coconut oil (FCO)
This blend is beautifully simply for muscles aches and the one I turn to if I don't have Deep Blue around. The kids will love how it smells!
Abrasions & Bruises
20 drops Lavender
20 drops Cypress
20 drops Frankincense
20 drops FCO
This is a favorite blend of mine for many reasons! This blend has the EOs used in the original Immortelle blend (before it was Immortelle). Super healing and restorative! This can be straight Lavender too.
Muscle Cramping
30 drops Lemongrass
20 Aroma Touch
30 drops FCO
Lemongrass is wonderful for any tendon or ligament damage as well as improving circulation. Aroma Touch blend helps with pain, inflammation and spasms. AT also acts as a driver, driving in any oil it's layered over, taking essential oils deeper into the tissue.
Blisters
30 drops Lavender
30 drops Melaleuca
20 drops FCO
I love this combination! This simple blend works so nicely for healing painful blisters. Great for scaly, itchy patches like eczema or hives. A good blend to have on hand!
Breathe
40 drops Breathe Blend
10 drops Frankincense
20 drops FCO
This blend will open the airways for better endurance and breath. This is a good blend to use if your child is still recovering from a cold...getting hot and sweaty on the field can aggravate any congestion that might be left behind. Roll on the chest and massage in. Of course, if your child has asthma, this is the blend to grab!
Focus!
30 drops Wild Orange
20 drops Peppermint
{no FCO}
A good blend to wake the kids up and bring the adults to attention too! I put this blend in a small 1 dram dropper bottle. Have the kids hold their hands out, drip 1 or 2 drops of this blend into the palm, quickly rub hands together then cup your hands over your nose and inhale deeply! Ahhhh!!
Lets throw in an all natural sanitizer too...you know, for mouth guards, whistles or various "shared" equipment. By the way, this comes in very handy for the little ones on the playground too!
Have fun out there, be safe and...
play ball!!

Okay, back to the Sports Pak. I decided on 5 basic blends that can easily be packed around to games or any activity. Five roller bottles to take care of abrasions, muscles strain, blisters, cramping and opening up airways. I also added a mini dropper bottle of a good "waking up the senses" blend! This is a great all around, all natural first aid kit that happens to smell great too!
