Team Mom Sports Pak! EO's on the Field

Winter's over, time to hit the ball park!
...hockey rink, tennis or volleyball court, beach, skate park...

This post is for all of you Mom's, Grandmas and Nannies cheering on the team and watching out for their best interest.  Every kid needs a cheer leader (and a sports doc) on the sidelines!

I absolutely loved this time of my life!  Shuttling kids to their games, standing on the sideline with the other parents talking shop and watching the little terrors tear it up on the field.  Thankfully, we had very few "serious" accidents on the ball field and hockey rink, we did amazingly well for raising 5 kids.  But I would have LOVED to have had essential oils through all of that, believe me.

Capture Sharing Moments!

By the way, standing on the sideline is a great time to share and talk about essential oils!  Tip! Keep an Altoid tin filled with various samples and a few business cards if you have them...people get VERY excited about these little bottles and an actual chance to smell them and use them is key to sharing.

Good EO samples:  Lavender, On Guard, Lemon, Peppermint, Wild Orange

Okay, back to the Sports Pak.  I decided on 5 basic blends that can easily be packed around to games or any activity.   Five roller bottles to take care of abrasions, muscles strain, blisters, cramping and opening up airways.  I also added a mini dropper bottle of a good "waking up the senses" blend!  This is a great all around, all natural first aid kit that happens to smell great too!

Aching Muscle Blend

30 drops Peppermint
30 drops Lavender
20 drops fractionated coconut oil (FCO)

This blend is beautifully simply for muscles aches and the one I turn to if I don't have Deep Blue around.  The kids will love how it smells!

Abrasions & Bruises

20 drops Lavender
20 drops Cypress
20 drops Frankincense
20 drops FCO

This is a favorite blend of mine for many reasons!  This blend has the EOs used in the original Immortelle blend (before it was Immortelle).  Super healing and restorative!  This can be straight Lavender too.

Muscle Cramping

30 drops Lemongrass
20 Aroma Touch
30 drops FCO

Lemongrass is wonderful for any tendon or ligament damage as well as improving circulation.  Aroma Touch blend helps with pain, inflammation and spasms.  AT also acts as a driver, driving in any oil it's layered over, taking essential oils deeper into the tissue.

Blisters

30 drops Lavender
30 drops Melaleuca
20 drops FCO

I love this combination!  This simple blend works so nicely for healing painful blisters.  Great for scaly, itchy patches like eczema or hives.  A good blend to have on hand!

Breathe

40 drops Breathe Blend
10 drops Frankincense
20 drops FCO

This blend will open the airways for better endurance and breath.  This is a good blend to use if your child is still recovering from a cold...getting hot and sweaty on the field can aggravate any congestion that might be left behind.  Roll on the chest and massage in.  Of course, if your child has asthma, this is the blend to grab!

Focus!

30 drops Wild Orange
20 drops Peppermint
{no FCO}

A good blend to wake the kids up and bring the adults to attention too!  I put this blend in a small 1 dram dropper bottle.  Have the kids hold their hands out, drip 1 or 2 drops of this blend into the palm, quickly rub hands together then cup your hands over your nose and inhale deeply!  Ahhhh!!

Lets throw in an all natural sanitizer too...you know, for mouth guards, whistles or various "shared" equipment.  By the way, this comes in very handy for the little ones on the playground too!

How to make your own Mini Spritzers:  Upcycle empty 15ml EO bottles by topping with a spray top!  Best tool ever!

I took an empty On Guard bottle and refilled it with 30 drops On Guard, topped off with Witch Hazel!  This is a versatile spritz!  You'll be amazed how handy this is to have around :))

Spray tops available {HERE}
Empty 5.5 x 3.7 hinged tins available {HERE}

Have fun out there, be safe and...
play ball!!

Holistic Pet Care with Essential Oils ~ Submitted by YOU!

"You can judge a man's true character by the way he treats his fellow animals."
Paul McCartney

There's a furry/feathery segment of the population whose wellness can benefit from {pure} essential oils too, our ever lovin pets.

Knowing our pets can also benefit from {pure} essential oils is one thing, finding "correct" information for {pure} essential oil pet care is another.

If you've ever jumped into this research you know that most of the information out there includes conflicting views and advice.  Like many of you, I'm looking for appropriate resources too.  While wrestling with how to find the correct information to share with you...I had the best idea!

Why not turn to the experts...YOU!  Those of you who have put {pure} essential oils to work in your backyard or barnyard.

How do you use essential oils in your "peaceable" kingdom?

We await your wisdom!

"Yes, Repecka...you know what they say...
There's probably an oil for that and Lord help us she uses the right one."

SO looking forward to learning from YOU!

How to Create a Daily EO Routine

"We Become What We Repeatedly Do" - Sean Covey

When I was introduced to essential oils it was all very exciting!  I love a natural approach and the oils held such promise.  I couldn't wait for my first order to arrive.  Well, they arrived and in my rookie reverence, I immediately tucked them away where they would be safe from harm.  Out of sight and "out of mind", I forgot to use them!

To be a successful essential oil user, you need to get comfortable with those little brown bottles.  You need to create your own EO habits and daily routine.  Once you get started, you'll feel down right naked without your oils around!

Okay, that's all fine and good you say, but what would a daily routine look like?

Recommendations of an EO user...

Early morning:  Take your supplements!  This action absolutely sets the tone for the rest of the day.  The Life Long Vitality Pack is a pretty big deal, a game changer for lots of folks.  The LLV Pack is more than a multi-vitamin, it provides antioxidants, stimulates metabolism function, provides natural fatty acids for the brain and nervous system, good for heart health, digestive aid, energy AND, acts as an anti-inflammatory for managing chronic pain.

Get in the habit of taking them everyday and very, very soon...you won't forget this morning habit because you like yourself much better when you take them.  TIP!  Keep your supplements in plain sight so you don't forget.

Keep Your Citrus EOs Handy!

We know it's important to drink plenty of water throughout the day.  Help yourself drink more water by adding 2 to 3 drops of a citrus essential oil (including Slim & Sassy).  With every glass you're helping your body cleanse and detoxify!  A big glass of citrusy water will give you energy and reduce stress.  Never underestimate citrus oils, they're great for depression, focus and can clean a mean white board.

I keep Slim & Sassy by the coffee maker, this spot helps me notice the bottle.  Several times a day I drip a few drops of Slim & Sassy under my tongue to curb my appetite and keep the metabolism revved during the day! The Lemon is by the water filter where I fill my water bottles.  Are you catching my drift?  Keep your EOs mainstream, out and about and all through the house :))

Balance Everyday

Make this EO a habit if you can.  Both kids and adults will benefit it's great recovery powers.  Let's face it, our nervous systems take a hit each and every day, Balance heals.  Keep this one on nightstands, at your desk and definitely take it with you wherever you may roam!

Here's a powerful description of how Balance enhances everything by Dr. Susan Lawton.

"Apply Balance (Wrists, low back and feet) as first oil in series for relief of a condition and you will be pleasantly surprised at how well each additional oil seems quicker and stronger in it’s effectiveness. You can use less and enjoy more benefits because the first thing Balance does in your system is to coordinate the electro-magnetic energy that flows throughout your body (like the orchestra conductor, fine tunes all instruments --organs and nerve chains--to work together more smoothly). Balance has a special relationship with the information that runs up and down your spine in that it sings to the energy and nerve chains and brings them into harmony quickly."

I have finally and thankfully developed the habit of Oil Pulling.  If you want to learn more about it {CLICK HERE}.

I do this most nights now but it took placing my EOs in plain sight for me to remember, kind of like a Post-it Note :))  Melaleuca and On Guard reside on the back of the bathroom sink strategically placed next to my toothbrush and On Guard toothpaste...nothing gets by me now!

Last but so not least, Frankincense!  Get in the habit of taking 3 to 4 drops under the tongue twice a day or topically if you must :))  You'll get used to the taste, you will. Frankincense is a powerhouse EO.  It decreases stress and anxiety, improves circulation, brain function, reduces joint pain because it reduces chronic inflammation and, it rejuvenates cells.

For all of this, Frankincense keeps a place of honor at my desk where I can reach it and remember it (because I'm ALWAYS at my desk!).

I would be remiss if I didn't mention diffusing as part of an EO users daily routine.  I love diffusing!  It's almost as important as my morning cup of coffee.  It's absolutely okay to keep a few bottles near your diffuser where ever it may be in the house.

If you're anything like me, I tend to get on a jag for a few days with a favorite EO combination.
By the way, the two EOs you see in the photo (Lavender & Balance) diffused together is my favorite night time blend.

P.S.  I've been known to forget where some of my oils are because I've left them next to a diffuser somewhere.  They're not lost for long, I find them eventually because I'm always diffusing!

In summary, don't hide your oils away because they're so precious and rare.  Keep them in plain sight, get in the habit of using your oils everyday.  Bring EOs mainstream in your household!  It's important to develop your own daily routine with your oils, trust me, you'll love them even more when you do :))

How to Kiss Seasonal Allergies Goodbye Naturally!

Got Hay Fever?  Ugh!

It's a miserable condition and an every day reality for many of us!  The symptoms are debilitating, frustrating and forget about wearing make-up!

Bring on the Triple Threat...

Three essential oils {100% pure} Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint will help you spell R E L I E F.  More good news!  These oils are safe for children too, application may vary.

If there's such a thing as the bright side of allergy season, this would be it...the stunning beauty of trees in bloom...

...unfortunately, followed by the annoying reality of pollen spewing trees, shrubs and flowers...

Ahhhh choo!

Enough is Enough!

To get fast relief naturally, you need Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint  - 100% pure essential oils.  Why?  Pure essential oils, like doTERRA have been tested for impurities.  If you're using oils for medicinal purposes you need the essence of a plant in it's purest form for the greatest efficacy!

Here are several protocols for allergy symptoms, pick the one that best suits you!

1.  Put 3 drops ea. of Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint in a gelatin capsule.  If you're not feeling relief in a 20 min. period, do it again.

2.  Rub the same combination of oils on your feet, then cup your hands under your nose and inhale the oils that remain on your hands.  Clean feet would be a bonus here :)

3.  If you're a bit bolder, put 2 drops of each oil in a 1/4 cup juice or water and swish around your mouth for 10 - 20 seconds then swallow.  (only with pure oils please!)

...and those baby blues...

A GREAT tip for itchy, watery eyes!  Dab Lavender with a little carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil on bones surrounding the eye.  Quick as a wink, your eyes will clear up!  Works fabulously (even my hubby admits it) and, it's good for your skin!

For the Kiddos:  1/2 the dose!

One drop of each oil added to a teaspoon of honey works beautifully for kids.  Heck, adults can take their oils this way too.  Afterall, a spoonful of honey helps the medicine go down!

(local honey is especially good to use!)
If symptoms persist, rub the oil combo on the bottoms of their feet morning & night, this goes for adult as well!

Remember, essential oils aren't time released like OTC drugs often are, they're fast acting.  You may want to keep a small bottle of each oil with you during the day for continued ease of allergy symptoms.  Combine the oils in one bottle for even more convenience!

Here's an idea for a small Travel Pack you can customize with your oils, easily fitting in your purse, backpack or briefcase.  Click {here} to see where you can purchase the small glass dram bottles.

Here's to a clear head and a tissue free allergy season my friends!
