Daybook 9

Outside my window- Overcast skies, and a cool breeze is coming through the open window.

I am thinking about- My brother's wedding on Saturday!

From the kitchen- Supper is in the oven.

I am creating- Finished sewing my new apron this morning. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the result.

I am reading- 'The Throne of Fire'.

I am hearing- Dad, mowing the lawn.

I am hoping- That the prelude and processional I'm playing for the wedding will go well...

I am planning- Must. Finish. Book. *glazed eyes*

I am wearing- A green t-shirt, and denim skirt.

My hair is- In a knot.

Around the house- Reuben is packing up his stuff to move to his apartment. *insert sentimental sniff here* :)

I am wishing- That the weather will be perfect for the wedding, and that it won't rain!

Giveaway...

Check out this giveaway. It. Is. Epic. :D

Summer Splash Blog Party!

What are two songs that describe you? 'More Than Useless' by Relient K, and... um... I can't think of another one... :)

What do you most fear? People taking stupid risks and getting hurt. And I get stage fright.

What color(s) dominate(s) your wardrobe? Lots of black, and lately I've been wearing a lot of aqua.

How do you normally do you hair? Up, or in a braid. I hardly ever wear it loose, partly because it's so long it gets in my way, and because it seems to tangle easily.

Do you prefer milkshakes or smoothies? Need you ask? Milkshake, duh. ;)

Do you like the color pink? Bubblegum pink? No. Hot pink? Yes.

What is your favorite flower? I don't really have a favorite... I like roses, and I don't like daisies.

How many states have you been to? Eight? I think...

What is your favorite thing about June? Leaves on the trees, swimming, going barefoot... and thunderstorms!

Describe your "dream wedding location." It would probably depend on the time of year. Maybe outside if it was summer? I really don't know. :)

Curly Updo

When you have waist-length hair, curling any amount takes a really long time. Was it worth it? Definitely.

Curl the lower half of your hair.

(I used rag curlers.)

Put the uncurled top half of your hair into a bun. Make sure the front is smooth, and looks how you want it to for the finished style.
(I did fix that little piece of  hair that's sticking out, but it's driving me nuts every time I look at the picture.)

Pull all the curls up, covering the bun, and pin in place . I used a french twist comb in the above photo, but have since decided hairpins work better. :)

Shorten the curls to the length you want them, and pin in place.

You can leave the ends of the curls loose, or pin them down.
Accessorize. :)

Daybook 8

Outside my window- Sunshine, and big fluffy clouds.

I am thinking about- One of my story ideas. :)

From the kitchen- Dishes that I need to wash... :/

I am creating- A draft of what all the Thank-You notes I have to write should look like.

I am reading- Hoping to start 'The Beggar Queen' soon. (Last book in the 'Westmark' series.)

I am hearing- Pandora Radio, and Amalia talking non-stop from the next room. :)

I am hoping- To decide what I'm playing on my harp for prelude at the wedding.

I am planning- To write my Thank-You cards later today...

I am wearing- My gardening clothes. You don't want to know what they look like. Really. :)

My hair is- Dutch braid down one side of my head, going into a low bun.

Around the house- All the guys are gone to work today. My sister-in-law and niece and nephew are over.

I am wishing- That my sunburn will be done peeling by the wedding. :D
