Camping Trip

This weekend we went camping with some friends. When it wasn't raining on us, it was an enjoyable weekend. :)
Going for a walk on the bog walk.
Flowers along the trail.
A dragonfly landed on my leg.
 Self-portrait in the swamp water.
Campfire.
 My adorable niece Elinor.
The sun came out, after the rain had forced us to run for shelter.
The non-volleyball players sitting on the beach.
Confession: I do not like volleyball.
I figured out how to use the sepia setting on my camera instead. :)

Daybook 7

Outside my window- I really want to use the word 'crepuscular', but it isn't quite yet. It's almost crepuscular outside. :)

I am thinking about- The slight blister I have from weeding all afternoon. Ouchy. :(

From the kitchen- Chocolate chip bars, calling my name...I can resist!

I am creating- *looks around frantically for a project* Nope. I'm still being uncreative.

I am reading- 'The Kestrel' - sequel to 'Westmark'.

I am hearing- The BBC Robin Hood soundtrack- via Grooveshark.

I am hoping- To get the Thank-You cards for all the people who came to my open house written soon...

I am planning- My wardrobe for a camping trip this weekend. Trying, anyway.

I am wearing- Knee-length denim skirt, and a striped pink knit shirt.

My hair is- In a bun.

Around the house- My brother and sister-in-law are over, and Dad and Mum took the youngest three kids to a fish fry in town.

I am wishing- That my nasty cold will go away soon. Been coughing all week... :(

Weekend in the Cities

This weekend we went to the cities for one last family trip before Reuben gets married.
We were planning to go to the zoo, but it rained all weekend so on Friday we went to the Science Museum instead.
Mollie finally got to see dinosaur bones. She's been wishing to for quite awhile.

Mollie and Lilia trying out the pendulum drawing-thingy. :)

On Saturday we went to the Underwater World in the Mall of America.
Lilia and Amalia with an eel. :)

 Jellyfish.
Mollie and The Guys. With Fish.
The underwater tunnel was pretty awesome. Although it was hard to get good pictures- with my photography skills at least. :)
A sinister-looking shark.
 Amanda and Me.
 Fun weekend.

Daybook 6

Outside my window- There's a jet trail in the otherwise blue sky, and occasionally the birds who have decided to make a nest on the light above my window fly past.

I am thinking about- Sunburn. Ouch.

From the kitchen- Lunch is being made...

I am creating- Uh...nothing...at the moment... *blushes guiltily*

I am reading- Finished re-reading 'The Last Olympian' yesterday.

I am hearing- Birds songs. I'm so glad it's finally warm enough to have the window open!

I am hoping- To get some sweet deals in town today. :)

I am planning- To eat, and leave for town as soon as I finish this.

I am wearing- Oh dear. I always seem to wear aqua on Wednesday! This week I'm wearing the same outfit as last week. I do have other clothes. Really.

My hair is- Twist-Wrapped Ponytail.

Around the house- Hmm, recovering from the weekend... Lilia just got 40some chicks yesterday, as a late birthday present. She's keeping them in the garage 'till they're older.

 I am wishing- See 'Hoping' ^. :)

Daybook 5

Outside my window- Darkness has fallen.

I am thinking about- This blog post, and the chat conversation I'm having via Facebook.

From the kitchen- Clean dishes I just finished washing.

I am creating- Haven't done anything creative since the hair flowers I started last week, unless baking a cake, or putting a birthday present into a gift bag counts. :)

I am reading- 'Westmark' by Lloyd Alexander.

I am hearing- Pandora Radio, and the 'bling' of Facebook chat.

I am hoping- That the planning and food prep for my graduation open house this weekend will go well...

I am planning- To rehearse the "No, I'm not going to college, I'm just going to stay home for now," speech, so I'm all practiced up for this weekend. :)

I am wearing- Aqua knit shirt, and a brown knee length skirt.

My hair is- In a curly up-do.

Around the house- Major cleaning is happening, in preparation for my open house.

I am wishing- That Amalia would make a pot of tea, and bring me a cup. Madagascar Vanilla Red Tea = Mmm... :)

Wedding Hairstyle Test

Last night I rag curled part of my hair in order to test my hairstyle for the wedding.

Now I just need a white hair flower... :)
Tutorial for this style coming soon, I promise.

Middle Child

I have lots of fun pretending to be the poor ol' middle child, but in reality I enjoy every minute of it. :)
Meet my siblings; Amanda, Justin, Reuben, (me) Morgan, Lilia and Amalia.
(No, they don't really look quite like that...)
This morning I started messing around with 'Paint'- and before I knew it, I had created this. It turned out even better than I was hoping.
Makes me happy just to look at it. :)

Psalm 139:9-10

9 If I take the wings of the morning,

And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,

And Your right hand shall hold me.

Daybook 4

Outside my window- Overcast skies, and lots of wind.

I am thinking about- Stories I want to write... Someday.

From the kitchen- Must be about time to start supper.

I am creating- A bunch of little yellow fabric flowers for my younger sister to wear in her hair at the wedding.

I am reading- 'The Trumpeter of Krakow' by Eric P. Kelly

I am hearing- Pandora Radio, the hum of the sewing machine from the sewing room, and the 'bling' of my facebook chat.

I am hoping- To convince my youngest sister to model for me, so I can do another hairstyle tutorial.

I am planning- To go practice my harp once I finish this post.

I am wearing- A red knit shirt, wide black belt, and a aqua/brown skirt with embroidery on it.

My hair is- In a knot.

Around the house- Quietness...

I am wishing- Hm... I'd like to be a better writer. And while I'm wishing, I'll take a Pegasus, too. ;)

Spring Gala Blog Party!

1. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Hmm... Europe, or else a cruise to somewhere warm and watery. I can't decide. :)

2. What is the oldest item you own?

Probably one of my books, or else a doll that belonged to my Mum when she was a girl.

3. If you had to pick one hero, who would it be?

Real life? Book/movie character? No idea who I'd choose in real life, and there are so many good heroes in books I'm not sure who I would choose in that case either. We'll say Tirian, from The Last Battle. :)

4. If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead. Who would it be?

Dinner with a random person from history could be very awkward. How about my sisters and my besties? There's more than three of them, but they would be way more fun than someone I didn't know. :)

5. Which do you like better, Coke or Pepsi?

I don't drink pop enough to know, I guess. I don't like either very much.

6. What would you rather have- chocolate or a cookie?

Unless it was a really good cookie, I'd choose chocolate over a cookie any day.

7. What is your favorite season?

Probably Summer. I like them all in different ways.

8. What's your favorite thing about Spring?

Watching all the snow melt, the grass turn green, and the puddles. I like puddles. :)

9. What's your favorite music?

Soundtracks, Relient K, and Barlow Girl.

10. What's your fashion/personal style?

Bold yet classy? I'm not sure how to describe it. :)
