Running with Baked Oatmeal

As we ponder the attributes of baked oatmeal and, the portability of this divine and hearty dish you my friends are about to be freed from the breakfast table.  You can now soar out the front door fully equipped with not only your purse, backpack, briefcase, messenger bag, wallet, extra pants, phone, coffee, recycling, dinosaur diorama and various pets...you can now safely take your oatmeal too!

Freedom.

Coffee Shop Baked Oatmeal

1  stick butter  -  melted
1 C.  brown sugar
2 eggs  -  beaten
1/2  t. salt
1 t.  vanilla
2 t.  baking powder
2 C.  warm milk
3 C.  rolled oats
1 C.  dried cranberries

Bake in a greased 9 x 12 casserole @ 375 for 30 minutes.

The goods.

Mix together melted butter, brown sugar and 2 beaten eggs in medium size bowl.

Add warm milk and stir just until all ingredients are combined.

Pour the ingredients that you've mixed together into a greased 9 x 12 casserole dish.  Then add rolled oats and dried cranberries, stir.

Remove from oven and stir.

Look how beautiful the oatmeal with cranberries is.  YUM!

Now, for the fun part.  Make your hearty and delicious oatmeal portable.

Purchase some disposable coffee cups with lids when you see them go on sale, stock up!

Now grab a cup and fill with oatmeal 3/4 full and then, pour in some 1/2 and 1/2 to your liking.  Next, put your big girl panties on because you are about to witness total decadence.   Hey, YOU deserve some decadence from time to time, never forget that, ever!

A big ol generous dob of whipped cream straight from the can with a sprinkle of cinnamon for good measure.  Holy love of all things yummy!

We're not done yet people.

Push a plastic spoon up through the lid, this will serve to better seal your cup when you're running out the door like a bat outta hell :)

Your wings my dear.

You're welcome.

XOXO!

Rebecca...the Temptress
